Axis Bank names Dubashi as AI chief – PRESS Insider

Axis Bank Ltd has hired former McKinsey and Co. partner Namrata Dubashi as its new artificial intelligence officer in a senior role focused on integrating AI into bank’s operations.
Dubashi brings 17 years of experience from McKinsey and will work under Executive Director for Banking Operations and Transformation, Subrat Mohanty.
Dubashi aims to lead an internal team of 50 executives dedicated to building AI capabilities in talent, tools, and infrastructure across the bank.
The new focus is on embedding AI into every aspect of business functions to make it an integral part of the bank’s DNA.
Dubashi’s role is significant given Indian banks’ increased use of AI for customer service, fraud detection, risk management, underwriting, and process automation.
Axis Bank already uses AI in customer-facing tools, like its virtual banking assistant AHA!, and has engaged in AI pilot projects with SWIFT India to detect payment fraud.
