Technology services company TeKnowledge is expanding its operations in Rwanda, introducing artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and digital skills development services aimed at supporting the country’s Vision 2050 agenda and accelerating the transition to a knowledge-based economy.
The announcement was made during a visit by Paula Ingabire, Rwanda’s Minister of ICT and Innovation, to the company’s Kigali office, where government officials, business leaders, and industry stakeholders discussed opportunities to advance the country’s digital transformation ambitions.
TeKnowledge said it is making three core service offerings available in Rwanda: National and Enterprise Skilling Academies focused on digital and AI capabilities, advanced cybersecurity services, and AI Strategy-to-Execution programmes designed to help organisations move from AI planning to operational deployment.

The company is also expanding the capabilities of its Security Operations Centre (SOC) in Kigali, enabling local institutions to access managed cybersecurity services supported by in-country expertise while strengthening their cyber resilience and workforce capabilities.
Aileen Allkins, TeKnowledge President and CEO described the expansion as a long-term commitment to Rwanda’s digital future, highlighting the country’s growing reputation as a technology and innovation hub.
The move aligns with Rwanda’s Vision 2050 strategy, which seeks to transform the country into a high-income, knowledge-based economy by investing in innovation, technology, and human capital development. The government’s digital transformation agenda includes initiatives such as the Irembo e-government platform, Kigali Innovation City, expanded broadband connectivity, and nationwide digital skills programmes.

Founded in 2010 and part of the YNV Group, TeKnowledge provides AI, cybersecurity, customer experience, and managed technology services to enterprises and governments. The company operates through more than 19 global hubs and employs over 6,000 people worldwide.
Its presence in Africa predates the Rwanda expansion. TeKnowledge established operations in Nigeria in 2018, where it has grown to approximately 2,000 employees, and launched its Kigali operations in 2021.
Through its partnership with Microsoft, including the Microsoft LEAP programme, the company has delivered digital and AI-skilling initiatives across Africa, training thousands of professionals and supporting workforce development programmes, particularly for women in technology.

The Rwanda expansion therefore represents a broadening of services from an existing operational base, positioning the company to support both public- and private-sector organisations as they pursue AI adoption, cybersecurity readiness, and digital workforce development.
