New open-source tool accelerates testing for trustworthy artificial intelligence

The Luxembourg AI Factory, developed by the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) and the University of Luxembourg’s SnT, presents the AI Assessment Sandbox Configurator, a tool for building customized AI testing environments.
The tool helps organisations ensure AI systems are trustworthy and compliant with regulatory requirements, addressing concerns about the manual, slow, and costly nature of current AI testing processes.
Open source and adaptable to various deployment scenarios such as private or sovereign clouds, it provides access to a curated catalogue of AI tests, controls, and datasets.
It aims to accelerate AI adoption by allowing organisations – including large enterprises, public institutions, start-ups, and SMEs – to responsibly deploy AI.
The project builds on years of research and industry partnerships which have informed the tool’s creation and provided insights into integrating AI into business operations.
The Configurator is part of a broader vision for a shared European AI assessment infrastructure, supporting sovereignty and positioning Luxembourg as a hub for AI deployment.
The tool is available publicly and expected to evolve with additional specialized tests and controls for various industries.
