We catch up with Tony Manton, technical support manager at Deep Sea Electronics (DSE), at iVT Expo in Cologne to find out what’s new from the company.
Tony walks us through three highlights. First, DSE’s M810 controller is now fully compliant with the European Radio Equipment Directive, addressing cybersecurity requirements for connected devices with wi-fi and Ethernet. Crucially, this is delivered as a free software update, meaning existing users can upgrade without new hardware.
Next, the popular M835 – the company’s 3.5-inch display controller – has a new hardware variant, adding a real-time clock for event logging, greater I/O flexibility including a high-frequency input for counters and encoders, configurable high-side and low-side outputs, and a second CAN port for expanded communications with engines, expansion modules, and external devices.
Finally, Tony offers a sneak preview of the M805: a new 5in display controller that packs a larger screen into a footprint no bigger than previous 4in units. Featuring a powerful processor with a dedicated graphics core, it will be available before the end of the year in versions supporting both QT and CODESYS (Coogs) programming environments.
