Meta guarantees jobs for those who complete AI training in Louisiana

Meta has chosen Baton Rouge as one of four sites to open its new AI workforce training academy, investing $115 million in this initiative across all four pilot locations.
Meta’s training program offers free lodging, stipends, and guarantees employment with Meta contractors upon completion of the four to five weeks of accelerated training.
The program aims to supply skilled workers to support Meta’s data center operations, particularly its largest AI data center project under development in Richland Parish.
Roles that the training aims to fill include fiber technicians, electricians, welders, and other skilled trade professionals.
Louisiana leaders, such as Governor Jeff Landry, have expressed strong support for the initiative, highlighting the importance of building a capable workforce to support the state’s industrial growth and technological advancements.
Meta’s other pilot sites for the workforce training academy are located in Columbus, Ohio, Houston, and Indianapolis.
The company emphasizes the need for a new generation to build and operate data centers, linking this effort to America’s ongoing role in the AI revolution.
