Ben–Gurion University of the Negev plans to introduce a bachelor’s degree in artificial intelligence which is set to begin as early as the 2026–2027 academic year, pending approval.
The program aims to be one of Israel’s first and most comprehensive independent courses in the field of AI.
The curriculum combines solid theoretical grounding in key areas such as computer science, mathematics, machine learning, and statistics, with significant practical experience.
The program aims to expose students to cutting-edge AI fields such as deep learning, generative models, natural language processing, and computer vision.
The goal of the program is not just to teach AI tools’ use, but also to deeply understand the scientific principles behind them, developing new technologies and leading research and innovation.
The university offers unique research infrastructures to support the tremendous computational demands of the field, and houses collaborations with leading tech companies for exposure to industry applications.
The program places great emphasis on the ethical and social aspects of AI, encouraging the development of “Responsible AI” and understanding the impact of AI on society.
