Salesforce Japan to focus on helping firms deploy AI effectively

Salesforce Japan plans to increase its investments in artificial intelligence (AI), emphasizing better data management to assist Japanese companies in deploying AI effectively.
Chairperson and CEO Shinichi Koide highlighted that data integration is critical for AI deployment, especially given the widespread fragmented IT systems in Japan where data is often scattered across departments.
Koide noted that Japan’s reliance on legacy mainframe computers generates data silos that impede efficient use of AI applications.
Better-integrated data could enable AI agents to perform tasks autonomously, aiding in systems reform and migration projects.
Salesforce’s parent company recently announced a major acquisition of U.S. data-management company Informatica for about $8 billion, aiming to capitalize on the expanding data management segment.
Koide commented that Japan offers greater AI-related growth opportunities than many other markets.
