Stanford dropouts raise nearly $10M to launch AI dating app – NBC Bay Area

Two former Stanford University students, Celeste Amadon and Asher Allen, have launched an AI-driven dating app called Known, raising nearly $10 million.
Known utilizes conversational AI instead of traditional profile building, conducting voice-based interviews to determine compatibility.
Users are paired with a curated match based on personality, values, and preferences after the AI gathers sufficient information.
The app imposes a 24-hour timeframe for users to accept the match and arrange a face-to-face date.
Sixty percent of user pairs accept the match and seventy percent of those who go on the date express interest in seeing the person again.
Known is currently open to users in the greater Bay Area, aiming to help more people in the Bay Area find love.
