OPM Debuts AI Tool to Cut Hiring Paperwork; FDA Launches Updated AI Tool

The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) has introduced “USA Class,” a free AI tool available via USA Staffing to help agencies generate and refine job descriptions by aligning them with OPM classification standards.
USA Class aims to assist managers in creating position descriptions based on existing ones or from scratch, with the ability to specify skills, responsibilities, and other qualifications.
The tool is expected to reduce time-to-hire and administrative burdens for human resources professionals, freeing up their time for candidate assessment and recruitment.
Federal hiring experts anticipate the tool’s success if effectively implemented, although its usability will determine overall user satisfaction.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has launched Elsa 4.0, an upgraded AI tool to aid employees and enhance document generation, text searchability, and other functionalities.
FDA’s new version integrates a new data platform called HALO (Harmonized AI and Lifecycle Operations for Data) to further streamline scientific review and evaluation processes.
FDA claims that 80 percent of its workforce already uses AI in their roles, positioning the agency as a leader in AI deployment.
Both tools aim to reduce administrative tasks and streamline hiring processes by leveraging artificial intelligence.
