City College classes continue with some exceptions despite the lack of internet and intermittent phone service.

SDCCD Chancellor Greg Smith detailed a separate attack with the district’s learning management system, Canvas, in an email to the district, but reported there was “no evidence personally-identifiable information was compromised.”
“You may have heard of a cybersecurity incident impacting our learning management system (LMS), Canvas,” Smith said. “This is a completely separate event from the cybersecurity issues our district experienced and which have led to our network outage.”
As of Tuesday, May 5, the City College campus is open, but many offices, including financial aid, health services and student services are closed.

“Our IT professionals and support vendors continue to investigate the cybersecurity threats we experienced over the weekend and yesterday morning,” Smith said. “We will provide an update later this afternoon on the status of our system and network and expectations for Wednesday. Thank you for your continued patience and work to mitigate the negative impacts on classes and services.”
