Acron Technologies acquires artificial intelligence company

St. Petersburg-based Acron Technologies, a portfolio company of TJC L.P., has acquired Portland, Oregon-based Sightline Intelligence.
Sightline Intelligence specializes in AI-based video processing hardware and software for advanced camera systems as well as target recognition technology.
The acquisition is expected to enhance Acron Technologies’ capabilities in defense and aerospace technologies.
Acron Technologies recently made an acquisition to bring in ultra-wideband wireless solutions from Alereon, Inc, focusing on low-weight communication capabilities.
With fewer than 20 employees, Acron Technologies operates primarily through its various business units known for innovation and safety.
The acquisition of Sightline Intelligence and Alereon follow a strategy of increasing technological capabilities and collaborating to develop more comprehensive solutions for customers.
Further strategic acquisitions and organic investments in artificial intelligence and analytics software are planned for future growth.
Acron Technologies believes in utilizing AI to accelerate product development and increase capacity without reducing the headcount.
