IARPA Issues Solicitation for Five AI-Focused Programs

The Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA) has launched five new artificial intelligence-focused research programs, part of its Emerging Technology Accelerator framework.
The programs aim to support mission-critical intelligence capabilities through prototype other transaction agreements.
Key programs include ARCADE, which will develop an AI-driven assistant for electrical circuit design; COSMIC, which integrates commercial remote sensing and geolocation data for intelligence analysis; DECIPHER, focusing on detecting and interpreting coded language; LOCUS, aiming to geolocate video content using sound and visual signals; and MOVES, utilizing video analytics for remote assessment of neurological conditions.
The IARPA Emerging Technology Accelerator uses an other transaction authority model to streamline engagement with commercial firms, accelerating award timelines, reducing barriers, and enabling rapid prototyping.
The efforts align with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence’s (ODNI) 2.0 initiative to accelerate emerging technology integration into operational use and enhance collaboration with the private sector.
