Nigeria Strengthens Tech Footprint as Four Startups Earn Place in Google Accelerator Africa Cohort

Four Nigerian startups—Bani, MasteryHive AI, Regxta, and Termii—have been selected for the 10th cohort of Google for Startups Accelerator Africa, highlighting Nigeria’s prominence in Africa’s thriving tech ecosystem.
The selection process was highly competitive, with only 15 startups chosen from nearly 2,600 applications, reflecting less than a 1% acceptance rate.
The Nigerian startups exemplify the increasing relevance of AI-driven solutions to meet specific African challenges in areas like finance, communication, education, and infrastructure.
These startups are part of a broader trend on the continent towards scaling successful startups that solve real-world problems through technology.
Nigeria’s startups are not only competing on a global scale but are also addressing local constraints like infrastructure gaps and financial inclusion with innovative solutions.
The accelerator program targets technical mentorship, cloud infrastructure support, and strategic guidance to help scale these promising startups.
Running from April 13th to June 19th, 2026, the program will guide the 15 startups through dedicated workshops focused on AI and machine learning, with support from experienced mentors.
Since its launch in 2018, the Google for Startups Accelerator Africa has supported 106 startups from 17 African countries, resulting in over $263 million raised and the creation of more than 2,800 jobs.
