Valley City State University (VCSU) will host a three-part AI lecture series in April: “Making Sense of AI: Education, Workforce and Community.”
-
The series will be both in person and online, available statewide, and no pre-registration is required.
-
It will be presented by VCSU’s AI Institute for Teaching and Learning, focusing on practical insights about AI’s impacts on education, workforce, and society.
-
Sessions include:
- Introduction to AI: Understanding AI, real-world applications, ethical considerations.
- AI in Education: Current uses in teaching and learning by educators.
- AI in Workforce: Impacts on job roles, skills needed, and emerging opportunities.
-
In-person sessions at VCSU’s Larry J. Robinson Center for the Arts and virtual sessions on Microsoft Teams.
-
The aim is to encourage nuanced conversations about AI, balancing optimism with caution. Key enduring human skills like communication and creativity are emphasized over AI expertise.
-
VCSU’s AI Institute aims to both integrate new technologies thoughtfully and strengthen the core educational mission.
