Steven Spielberg Explains Why He Hasn’t Used AI in Filmmaking

Steven Spielberg, director of the 2001 film “AI,” claims he hasn’t used artificial intelligence in his film-making but is not fully opposed to it.
He emphasized that AI may be useful in various disciplines but should not replace human creativity.
During the interview with Sean Fennessey of The Ringer’s podcast The Big Picture, Spielberg reflected upon his experience as a filmmaker, parent, and space-alien enthusiast.
Spielberg revealed that so far, AI hasn’t been used in any of his film or TV projects.
He mentioned his involvement in a project in the works that will be a Western, without typical Western tropes.
Spielberg expressed his fascination with alien theories and confirmed that this topic is the subject of his upcoming film “Disclosure Day,” due out in June.
Although Spielberg has been in the film industry for years, he has no desires to retire and has been balancing filmmaking with parenting for the past 20 years.
The upcoming film “Disclosure Day” is currently being promoted with a panel and a large mural in downtown Austin during the South by Southwest Festival and Conference in Austin.
