Inaugural Make Your Mark competition challenges students to blend creativity and AI

Cross-Campus Collaboration: The inaugural event, Make Your Mark: AI Poster Competition, represents a unique campus collaboration bringing together different academic programs and departments, especially the Communication Design program partnering with Elon AI for the first time.
Open Participation: Open to students from any discipline, the competition invites participants to experiment with AI tools as part of their creative design process and showcases integration of AI with traditional design techniques.
Creative Challenge: The competition emphasizes the thoughtful use of AI, where participants must design an original 11″ x 17″ poster, combining AI-generated and hand-crafted components, displaying how AI facilitates creative work.
Public Voting and Prizes: The finished posters will be voted on by the public with winners receiving cash prizes totaling $650, including awards for the top three, a Fan Favorite awarded by audience vote, and a Judge’s Favorite.
Emphasis on Creativity and Innovation: The event aims not only to test participants’ design and AI skills but also to inspire creativity and innovative use of AI while highlighting its role as a complementary tool rather than a replacement for human creativity.
