Sun Valley Economic Development will host a lecture by cybersecurity expert Sin Ming Loo as part of an SVED Economic Roundtable on Thursday, March 12, at the Limelight Hotel in Ketchum at 5 p.m.Loo is associate dean at Boise State University’s College of Innovation and Design, a professor of electrical and computer engineering and collaborates with the Idaho National Laboratory in cyber-informed engineering.Loo said Wednesday that details of his talk were still coming together.“The idea is to provide information for everyone, including tips on how to stay safe in the online environment,” Loo said.
“There will be some resources for people who have a computer and technology background. But also resources for county and city governments and school districts,” he said, including resources available from the state of Idaho.Loo said cybersecurity concerns everyone.“Whether you realize it or not everything about your life and what you do online is available on the web,” he said. “Knowing the minimum you need to do to keep safe is important for everyone.”
