The College of Eastern Idaho is integrating generative AI education into its first-year English class, beginning with the Summer 2026 term.
The new curriculum will emphasize AI literacy, teaching students how to responsibly navigate AI tools.
It aims to help students understand AI, evaluate its applications, analyze AI output, and maintain academic integrity.
CEI will leverage tools like Microsoft Copilot to support this new learning approach.
The course is designed to foster critical thinking, digital literacy, and responsible technology use.
The new curriculum will be piloted in Summer 2026 before a full rollout in the Fall 2026 term.
Feedback from students will be used to refine the course during the pilot phase.
