Southwest Baptist University has rebranded its Bachelor of Science in Data Science degree to the Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Degree.
The program focuses on equipping students with real-world skills in AI and data-driven solutions through internships and case studies.
The faculty and two advisory boards comprised of alumni and industry professionals ensure the program stays updated on industry needs.
AI-related job postings have grown significantly, especially with a 100% increase noted for 2024-2025 alone according to a Brookings Institution report.
Courses in the new program include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Processing, and Computing Ethics.
Students can also participate in a 4+1 program option to complete both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in five years.
The new AI/Data Science program is receiving interest from the incoming freshmen class of 2026.
