Registration now open for Elon University’s “AI Play” middle school summer program

Elon University is hosting a weeklong summer day camp named “AI Play” for rising sixth through eighth graders.
The camp is scheduled for June 15-19, 2026, and will take place in Lindner Hall on the university’s campus.
The goal of the camp is to introduce students to the fundamentals of artificial intelligence and digital game design through hands-on learning and interactive activities.
The camp includes daily sessions from 8:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and each day will focus on different AI principles.
The fee for participation is $500 and includes lunch and snacks, although seats are limited.
The program is organized by faculty in the Department of Computer Science, with support from university students, and is in collaboration with various offices within the university.
Activities include exploring how AI is used in digital game design and learning about the ethics of AI, among other concepts.
