Uzbekistan Adopts New Law to Regulate Artificial Intelligence Use Across Sectors

Uzbekistan has passed a new law to update existing legislative acts to regulate relations associated with artificial intelligence (AI), signaling a significant advance in its approach to AI governance.
The law, officially titled “On making additions and changes to certain legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the regulation of relations arising from the use of artificial intelligence,” was signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on January 21, 2026, and is registered under No. LRU-1115.
This legislation introduces additional provisions and amendments across various existing legislative acts to better incorporate AI technologies.
