Meta suspends teenagers access to artificial intelligence characters worldwide

Meta is suspending access for teenage boys to current AI characters across all its applications worldwide.
The suspension is set to last until an updated and more controlled version of AI characters is ready for this age group.
The new set of AI characters will feature enhanced parental control tools once released.
In October, Meta showcased advanced parental control tools to prevent private conversations between teenagers and AI, but they have not yet been implemented.
Meta’s new AI experiences aimed at teenagers will be regulated by a PG-13 rating system to restrict access to inappropriate content.
