Hyundai’s Atlas humanoid wins best robot award at CES 2026

Hyundai Motor Group’s Atlas humanoid robot won the Best Robot Award at CES 2026, selected by global media, highlighting it as one of the most impressive innovations showcased at the event.
Atlas, developed by Hyundai’s U.S. robotics subsidiary Boston Dynamics, impressed rivals including Jackery’s Solar Mars Bot and Beatbot’s RoboTurtle.
CNET, citing Atlas’s humanlike walking ability and refined industrial design, named it the winner, praising its natural walking gait and nearing industrial readiness.
Initial deployment of Atlas is scheduled for 2028 at Hyundai’s Metaplant America in Georgia, starting with low-risk parts sequencing before expanding to heavy-load assembly tasks by 2030.
The Atlas robot can lift up to 50 kilograms, perform precision tasks, and adapt to new tasks rapidly through AI-based learning. It features 56 degrees of freedom, enabling human-like motion, and hands with tactile sensors for high-precision autonomous work.
