Sanofi’s 2nd autoimmune pact with AI biotech could reach $2.5B

New Collaboration Pact: Sanofi has renewed its partnership with U.S. biotech Earendil Labs for another major autoimmune and immunology research agreement.
Financial Commitment: Under this deal, Sanofi has pledged $160 million upfront and over the near-term to leverage Earendil’s discovery platform for multiple bispecific autoimmune and inflammatory disease projects.
Development and Commercialization: Sanofi will manage the development and commercialization efforts for all bispecific candidates derived from this collaboration.
Potential Total Deal Value: The deal contains potential milestone payments to Earendil that could escalate the overall value to up to $2.56 billion, in addition to royalties based on sales.
Previous Collaboration: This latest agreement follows an earlier pact from April 2025 where Sanofi invested $125 million for bispecific antibodies that target conditions such as ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease.
AI-Driven Platform: Earendil Lab’s commitment to AI-driven research and development, including machine learning, helps in creating next-generation biologic therapeutics.
Ongoing Research: Earendil has completed a phase 1 study for HXN-1001, which aims at treating inflammatory bowel diseases.
Company Expansion: Sanofi has been expanding its autoimmune and immunology pipeline through various partnerships and investments, including a deal with Dren Bio worth up to $1.7 billion.
