Despite the project moving forward at a zoning level, the Palm Beach County Commission decided to postpone a final decision until April, requesting further studies.
Governor Ron DeSantis has proposed an “AI Bill of Rights” that notably includes provisions allowing local governments to reject AI data centers and prohibiting their construction in agricultural zones.
Efforts to curtail AI data centers’ impact are growing, including suggestions for financial bonds to cover environmental damages incurred by such projects.
