Artificial intelligence adoption is accelerating. That also means AI-driven threats are becoming more prevalent and easier for less-skilled threat actors to deploy. That combination is forcing organizations to rethink how they prepare cyber professionals, said Casey Marks, COO at ISC2.See Also: Agentic AI and the Future of Automated Threats
“We do believe that, moving forward, there are opportunities to be able to deal with threats in a more systemic and automated way, and that’s a hope, to be able to address some of the security issues,” Marks said.
Roles tied to high-velocity operations will benefit the most – security operations, network monitoring, vulnerability management and security testing. AI won’t replace these roles, but it will become embedded across them, he said.
